Value Delivered
To the company's clients in southern Colorado, where he oversees work acquisition and operations, Dennis is the person responsible for ensuring reliable service and high-quality project delivery. Working with various local specialty subcontractors, he identifies projects that fit the company's niche in this highly competitive market. After projects are awarded, Dennis and his team work together to deliver consistently high-performance mechanical systems that give clients optimum operation, maximum energy efficiency and long-term value.
Expertise
Dennis began working with Trautman & Shreve in 1982, moving rapidly up into field supervisory roles. By 1988, he was managing projects and attending the Mechanical Contractors Association of America's Institute for Project Management at the University of Texas. Since then, his bottom-up industry knowledge has been a significant factor in his estimating and project management success.
Experienced in working under all types of contracts, including lump sum, design/assist, design/build, cost plus and guaranteed maximum price, he has been involved in many of the company's most prominent projects. These have included the Denver Convention Center, the Denver International Airport Fueling Facilities and the Sun Microsystems Corporate Campus. In addition, he was involved in rebuilding the Stapleton fuel farm after fire destroyed it in the late 1980's, and in the construction of Quantum Peripherals' research and development facilities, which included four clean rooms totaling 70,000 square feet.
The Personal Side
Dennis, his wife Ginny, their four children and four grandchildren (with a fifth on the way) all live in Colorado, where they enjoy the area's golfing and skiing opportunities. Dennis and Ginny are also active in their church, which sits at the foot of Pikes Peak, a stone's throw from The Garden of the Gods. In addition, Ginny is a yoga instructor, and Dennis is her favorite -- and one of her most faithful -- yoga students.
