During his 28 years with Trautman & Shreve, Jim has been instrumental in helping the company complete most of Colorado's more notable projects, a feat that has helped it become the Rocky Mountain region's largest mechanical contracting and engineering firm. In addition to participating in the preconstruction of most major projects, Jim oversees all aspects of the business, including business development and strategic planning, ensuring delivery of the high-quality systems and services clients need in today's demanding environment.

 

Expertise
Since starting in the industry over 36 years ago, Jim has moved steadily up through the ranks. Before taking his current position, he worked as a mechanical craftsman, project superintendent, project manager, project executive and vice president of operations. During that time, he has been involved in some of the industry's most complex construction projects, including Denver International Airport, the largest construction project in OSHA recordable history. He was also involved in the design/build construction of the Denver Bronco's new Invesco Field at Mile High, the nation's first design/build National Football League stadium.

 

Jim participates in numerous industry groups. He is currently serving his seventh year on the Colorado Associated General Contractors' board of directors. In addition, he is president of the Colorado National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau, and is an associate member of both the Mechanical Contractors Association of America and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

 

The Personal Side
Jim participates in a variety of outdoor sports, including hunting, fishing, skiing and golfing. Whenever possible, he and his wife Karen love to travel to destinations around the world, where they enjoy meeting local people and sampling local food and wine.
