MECHANICAL SYSTEMS SCOPE OF WORK
Installation of a modern, state-of-the-art mechanical system for a seven story, 200,000 square foot acute care facility. Extra emphasis on patient comfort and reliability were key to this construction project.
LITTLETON HOSPITAL FACILITY BACKGROUND
Littleton Hospital was opened in 1989 as a premier health care facility to serve one of the fastest growing counties in the United States, Arapahoe County of Colorado. They have grown from a 92-bed to a 150-bed facility.
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES OBJECTIVES
In an effort to serve one of the fastest growing counties in the United States, Colorado’s Littleton Hospital expanded to meet the needs of the community.
DESIGN/BUILD CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS
The original project required Trautman & Shreve, Inc. to take the lead in design/build services with development of 3-D CAD fully coordinated drawings. These BIM (Building Information Modeling) diagrams included construction plans and schematics for structural, electrical, fire protection, mechanical and plumbing systems. In doing so, Trautman & Shreve identified architectural, structural, and other discipline conflicts to coordinate proper preconstruction documentation prior to construction. This provided significant efficiencies in the field through a maximized fabrication process while eliminating the need for rework.
