MECHANICAL SERVICES SCOPE OF WORK
This mechanical construction project required design/build services for a new 35,000 square foot, 3-story building. The building included pre-function conferencing, office, bio-med and storage facilities. Trautman & Shreve, Inc. responsibilities included complete HVAC installation, distribution of water, sewer and fire protection services as well as plumbing services.
NATIONAL JEWISH HOSPITAL CAMPUS FACILITY BACKGROUND
National Jewish Hospital is a non-sectarian, not-for-profit, independent, clinical and research medical center. They are focused on respiratory, immunologic, allergic, and infectious diseases. Known worldwide for these disorders, Denver’s National Jewish is the only medical facility dedicated exclusively to handling these diseases.
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES OBJECTIVE
To accommodate the crucial educational and office space needs of the faculty members.
MECHANICAL DESIGN/BUILD SOLUTIONS
The original project required Trautman & Shreve, Inc. to take the lead in design/build services with development of 3-D CAD fully coordinated drawings. These BIM (Building Information Modeling) diagrams included mechanical construction plans and schematics for structural design, electrical services, fire protection, HVAC services, and mechanical and plumbing systems installation. In doing so, Trautman & Shreve identified architectural, structural, and other discipline conflicts to coordinate proper construction documentation prior to construction. This provided significant efficiencies in the field through a maximized fabrication process while eliminating the need for rework.
