HVAC & PLUMBING RETROFIT SCOPE OF WORK
This mechanical construction services project entailed the renovation of existing patient rooms into Endoscopy/Hepatology, Solid Organ Transplant and Oncology areas. Included in the effort were extensive HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems retrofit . The renovation and installation of a new emergency and life safety generator with above grade fuel oil storage were also included. All work was performed without interruption to critical emergency and life safety power.
HEALTHCARE FACILITY BACKGROUND
The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center is comprised of the following schools: Graduate, Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry and Pharmacy. This renowned cluster of health sciences institutions includes 2 teaching hospitals, the University of Colorado Hospital and Colorado Psychiatric Health, the NCI-designated University of Colorado Cancer Center, and a constellation of research and treatment institutions that are listed among the most prestigious in the country.
MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION OBJECTIVES
To accommodate the thousands of students, faculty, staff, patients and their families from all over the world that stream in and out of the buildings everyday, the University of Colorado Health Sciences is continually upgrading and expanding its commercial mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems.
MECHANICAL RETROFIT SOLUTIONS
Trautman & Shreve performed the mechanical retrofit services work without interruption to critical emergency and life safety power. This was accomplished through highly effective teamwork and scheduling capabilities.
