MECHANICAL SYSTEMS SCOPE OF WORK

The mechanical systems services project included the construction of a state-of-the-art corporate headquarters facility for the Starz/Encore network. The facility was a 310,000 square foot five story office building housing administrative, sales, marketing, technical, programming and production functions. The facility included a full commercial kitchen with a 115-seat dining room, exercise facility, conference rooms, graphic production studios, screening rooms, and executive offices. The 3½-story parking garage handles 545 cars. Commercial HVAC system and plumbing system included specialty cooling systems for the in-house transmission and production equipment, viewing suites, satellite and computer rooms.

Starz/Encore Group LLC, a subsidiary of Liberty Media, operates pay movie channels. They own a dozen domestic channels and have more than 6,500 movies in their library.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS

The original mechanical construction project required Trautman & Shreve, Inc. to take the lead with design/build and development of 3-D CAD fully coordinated drawings. These preconstruction BIM diagrams included schematics for structural systems, electrical systems, fire protection systems, mechanical construction, and plumbing systems. In doing so, Trautman & Shreve identified architectural, structural, and other discipline conflicts to coordinate proper construction documentation prior to construction. This provided significant efficiencies in the field through a maximized fabrication process while eliminating the need for rework.
