Mechanical Design/Build Construction: HVACR Installation & BIM Services
TRAUTMAN & SHREVE VALUE DELIVERED
- Fast-track mechanical construction
- Within one day the job was staffed, and material and construction equipment was on site to meet the extremely aggressive schedule
MECHANICAL SERVICES PROJECT SCOPE OF WORK
The mechanical services project consisted of a 33,600 square foot data center, including HVACR installation of 19 refrigerated computer room air conditioning units and associated condensing units. To support the 19 units, over 10,000 feet of refrigeration pipe, 2,500 feet of water pipe and 2,500 feet of condensate drainpipe was installed. Drain pans were installed under all water and drain piping. Also completed were evacuation, refrigerant charging and startup of the AC systems. The facility included 2,500 square feet of general office space for support personnel. The space includes AC for space comfort, men's and women's toilet rooms, and a break room.

DESIGN/BUILD CONSTRUCTION SOLUTIONS
The original project required Trautman & Shreve, Inc. to take the design/build construction lead with development of 3-D CAD fully coordinated drawings. These building information modeling (BIM) diagrams included schematics for structural, electrical, fire protection, mechanical and plumbing systems. In doing so, Trautman & Shreve identified architectural, structural, and other discipline conflicts to coordinate proper construction documentation prior to construction. This provided significant efficiencies in the field through a maximized fabrication process while eliminating the need for rework.
